Photo Essay
My photo essay was made to portray man versus nature. These photos were taken from a variety of places; from Plymouth, Rhode Island, Berkley, and even my backyard. All of these places made me think about the struggle that is man versus nature, so I decided to depict them all in my photo essay. This particular topic is very important to me, as I have found it increasingly difficult to find a place, especially locally, where a beautiful scene of natures wonders isn't somehow defaced by a man-made thing. This bothers me, as even the most desert, out-of-the-way place possible has been reached by man. That was the concept behind the first half of my essay. However, whatever man tends to take, nature has a tendency to take back. That was the purpose behind the second half of my essay. Both sides of the coin equally portray the eternal conflict between human beings and the land that they wish to conquer. I decided to make each of my photos warmer and add a green tint, both to portray the beauty of the nature, as a unifying factor for my photo essay.
